Convert HEIC/HEIF to JPEG Before Upload on Webflow
Convert HEIC/HEIF images to JPEG before they’re uploaded to Webflow. CropGuide handles the conversion in the browser, with no server-side image processing required.
First we need to install CropGuide for Webflow. Then we can set up HEIC/HEIF image conversion. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Enable HEIC uploads and JPEG conversion
HEIC support is currently configured through the JavaScript API rather than the CropGuide dashboard. Add image/heic to the field’s accepted image formats; CropGuide will then convert selected HEIC images to JPEG before upload.
Add a script tag to your site and add the following content.
The JavaScript API is only available on Pro and Unlimited subscriptions.
<script>
$cropguide.push(
'set',
'fields',
[
{
selector: 'html',
settings: {
accept: ['image/jpeg', 'image/heic'],
},
}
]
)
</script>
That’s it. Let’s navigate to the form on your website and refresh the page so we can test if our new settings have loaded.
Apart from converting HEIC images to JPEG we can also apply other changes, like compressing images.
Test HEIC conversion
When using the image upload field on your Webflow site, CropGuide will now convert HEIC images to the JPEG format, resulting in less hassle on the backend.
